Public Testing Complete

EIA is implementing its new information release system for weekly data products starting on January 7, 2026. This new system will manage publication of the Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR) and the Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report (WNGSR).

Between the old and new system, the process for accessing WPSR or WNGSR data will not change, no matter if you are using a bot or accessing the data manually. All links for data within each report will remain the same.

It is important for consumers browser to follow a 302 redirect, which will ensure that requests for the latest release files are directed to the correct locations.

REMINDER: While EIA does not mandate a specific custom User-Agent string for bots accessing release data in order to be served, we highly recommend adhering to standard HTTPS practices such as providing a descriptive User-Agent (e.g., MyAppNameBot/1.0 [contact-email@example.com]). It will benefit EIA and will assist in troubleshooting/resolving issues that you may experience.

Welcome to EIA's Information Releases website. This website is dedicated to the data release of the Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report (WNGSR) and the data files associated with the 10:30 a.m. release of the Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR).

On February 22, 2010, this website became the official web location for the data files associated with the 10:30 release of the above products.

This change is facilitated by the need to assure EIA customers that the availability to the WPSR and WNGSR files is as fair, and expeditious, as possible. To this end, EIA is implementing this new web address with increased security measures to assist in offsetting increased malicious activity associated with both data releases.

  • EIA Petroleum Data News - Provide advance notification of unscheduled delays and/or changes in content or format for the following publications: Weekly Petroleum Status Report (WPSR), the Petroleum Supply Monthly (PSM), the Petroleum Marketing Monthly (PMM), and the Fuel Oil and Kerosene Sales (FOKS). It will also provide notification of scheduled releases of the PSM, PMM, FOKS, and other petroleum reports.
